Not the dog bed. Not the sofa.

If you’ve ever lived with a greyhound or other pointy dog, you already know this universal truth: no bed is ever quite long enough. Not the dog bed. Not the sofa. Not even the king-size human bed.

Greyhounds are elegance on stilts, sleek bodies, long legs, and faces that seem to stretch just a little further than physics intended. When it’s time to lie down, that extra length becomes a design flaw in an otherwise aerodynamic masterpiece.

The Art of the Greyhound Fold

Watching a greyhound lie down is like witnessing an advanced yoga class. Legs fold in unexpected directions, spines curve like question marks, and somehow the dog ends up both entirely relaxed and mildly alarming. The nose, however, rarely gets the memo.

While the body may fit neatly into a curled position, the nose often spills dramatically over the edge; hovering in midair, pressed against a cushion, or pointing accusingly at the floor. It’s as if greyhounds refuse to acknowledge the concept of spatial limits.

Beds Are Merely Suggestions

Greyhounds don’t so much use beds as they overflow them. A bed might cradle the torso perfectly, but the nose? That extends well beyond the border, sometimes by a comical margin. Add a pair of dangling legs, and you’ve got a dog that looks like it’s melting like a Dali clock.

Then there are sofas. Greyhounds will stretch out, confident and serene, even when half their body is hanging off the side. Once they find a cozy spot, they’re not about to adjust just because their face has exceeded the boundaries.

Embrace the Sprawl

If you share your home with a greyhound, you’ll quickly learn to accept that no furniture will ever be used “correctly” again. Their noses will hang off the edges. Their bodies will twist in ways you didn’t know were possible. And somehow, they’ll look both absurd and majestic at the same time.

It’s not poor planning - it’s just a lot of dog in one very long shape.

https://pointydog.teemill.com/ #pointydogs #greyhounds

https://images.podos.io/g1ajssko9ttmy9gcotyppdlscfyzu5povv5p10qagn73znlt.jpeg?z=1.3&fx=0.50334876660528&fy=0.61538461538462
https://images.podos.io/g1ajssko9ttmy9gcotyppdlscfyzu5povv5p10qagn73znlt.jpeg.jpg?w=1140&h=855&z=1.3&fx=0.50334876660528&fy=0.61538461538462
https://images.podos.io/g1ajssko9ttmy9gcotyppdlscfyzu5povv5p10qagn73znlt.jpeg.jpg?w=1920&h=1440&z=1.3&fx=0.50334876660528&fy=0.61538461538462
https://images.podos.io/2ag1d9lsmlewhntlavwvhcyjzq5a4cql6t8pouaanh0xdod8.jpeg.jpg?w=1140&h=855&z=1.3&fx=0.46368399598406&fy=0.61538461538462
https://images.podos.io/2ag1d9lsmlewhntlavwvhcyjzq5a4cql6t8pouaanh0xdod8.jpeg.jpg?w=1920&h=1440&z=1.3&fx=0.46368399598406&fy=0.61538461538462
If you have ever shared a field, beach, or even a room in a house temporarily turned into a zooming track with a pointy dog, you will know this that they are fast.
